Reportage Zoomark 2009

Complimenti a Vitrea!

Acquari in esposizione

English version – Reportage Zoomark 2009

In the week of May 7-10 was held in Bologna on the 13th international exhibition of products and equipment for pets, also known as Zoomark. The exhibition is held every two years, interspersed with the more well known Interzoo of Nurnberg, we have seen and commented a few months ago.

Before you see the photos we can say that the show is certainly not born under good auspices because year after year some important brands (and also italian brands) miss this exhibit, also italian brands that normally have big stand in nurnberg. Surely this is a problem both economically and in visibility, but which can be summed up in cost too high for the dimensions of exposure that do not guarantee a return to commercial and advertising appropriately. Speaking with various stakeholders have come to know that the cost of a booth at Zoomark is absolutely comparable to the same in Nurnberg, with a huge difference in audience and advertiser return between the two events. We are not sure to tell them how to build an exhibition of this kind, but certainly they should change, and they must do so very quickly.

Inside Vitrea stand

The first stand that we have visit is also one of the most beautiful and cared for, the beautiful stand of italian Vitrea. Inside the stabd we had the opportunity to admire the construction of the aquarium, the importance they give to led system and presentation of a minireef valuable.

very beautiful fresh water landscape with led illumination

Below we can see the mini reefs as designed by Vitrea, one is set, while two others are left empty to see the degree of finish.

In the two photos above you can admire the results you can achieved by such a system of this size, into the sump there is the smal skimmer Elos NS100.

The beauty of the system seen by forniture open. Congratulations to Vitrea!

Coming out from Vitrea stand we encounter a reef aquarium worthy of being photographed.

The stand TUNZE, much reduced compared to what seen in Nuremberg, but not for this less attractive because of what they have presented. They were of course present the new pumps, the cooling system with fans (which, in truth, we do not like too much, but very attractive), the whole battery of skimmers, and the presentation of the new multicontroller, much smaller than the previous one, but connected and manageable by a computer, so where the scope for adjustment are practically endless.
Congratulations to TUNZE for being at this point of automation of the movement in the tanks.

From one type of pumps to another, after Tunze we went to Hydor where we saw the new controller for the pumps Hydor Koralia, 2 and 4 channels and the new pumps Hydor Koralia Magnum that promise low power demand with a big water flow.

The new controller to 4 pumps, developed by Aquatronica as easily understood from the display and buttons

The two controllers side by side, the controllers for two pumps in the foreground and the new one into the background, the operational possibilities of course are very different between the two systems, I tend to prefer the more evolved if not for the costs which are obviously increased greatly between the two versions.

Koralia pumps are doing their job, with controller in the center

In front of the Hydor stand as a meeting place among aquarium enthusiasts, in this case a large group from Acquaportal forum, from left: Zanna Bianca, Paolo Marzocchi, Zack78, Lumaz and Andreanegu, two of which holders of two beautiful tank of the month on Acquaportal Magazine: Paolo Marzocchi and Andreanegu

Just in front of the Hydor there is LGMAquari of the great pleasant Geppy.  Note in the picture that follows the crowd in the stand LGMacquari.

From left standing are seen agente25, Manuela and Geppy Apuleo

The main product by LGMAquari is the new skimmer dual power supply, without a doubt a beautiful item!

Geppy works, Supergippo listen, and we see the result of the new venturi in a demo tank

Calcium reactors by LGMaquari

We then visited the stand Eheim, always very interesting but without any particular launch of new products.

The JBL stand

The Aquaristica stand

In the first photo the Pistolero admires a sump, in the second some people from forum (from left Perry, Abracadabra, Andreaross, Gerry) admire the last skimmer from Deltec that is in third photo.

A nanoreef into the stand aquaristica, open and closed to admire the small sump and the technology of the small tank.

A very special aquarium into Aquaristica stand with many very small size Amphiprion Ocellaris

And we are finally to another point of meeting into the Zoomark for us of Acquaportal forum, the Reefline stand, where we were welcomed by the friendliness of the two owners Andrea and Giancarlo.

Reefline is a company which imports and sells many brands in Italy, and the stand was one of the most beautiful of the event.

One of the innovations proposed by Reefline is the new line of Osmosys osmosis plants, among which stands out for the following special version “pocket” of an osmosis system, stunning in its miniaturization.

Another news was the presentation of the new splendid skimmers SKIMZ presented in white, well-finished and apparently well-constructed … we have to try them.

The big Nazzareno curiously looking to a new frags to put in his wonderful aquarium.

Some Aquarium keepers discussing with Simone (owner of ReefLab) about their beautiful corals

Finally, it is time for lunch, where the worst instincts of the forums are hard put to the test.

From left Lumaz, Zanna Bianca e Riccardo Cerni

Later we went to Askoll stand where we looked a new type of aquarium very small and very beautiful, incredibly very cheaper, indeed seems to be sold complete at a price below 150 euros.
The reef version in any case we consider inappropriate and absolutely not to replicate, since it does not have the minimum standards for living organisms in our humble opinion, at least as proposed. The idea in any case of an aquarium completely transparent and closed with glass, it is very intriguing, as I hope you can see from the photos.

You can then observe the filter system behind the thank and hidden from view by the cover that complements the light and allows you to adjust the water level. For the presentation of this mini aquarium were also developed special accessories.

New system lights to Ceab stand, it was a shame that aquariums presented were empty, therefore, although stylistically perfect, did not give us way to objectively evaluate the lighting system. Apart from that the system is very interesting and beautiful to see.

Another very interesting stand is that of the Bolognese Oceanlife company that has presented several innovations, including skimmers and calcium reactors, as well as an interesting point of view on their tanks.

Here we see how Oceanlife think about their aquariums. I like very much the forniture, with large legs that have internal grooves to accommodate the filling panels.
Absolutely new, almost for me, his proposal to paste the back glass more advanced than the side windows leaving space for the pipes input and output, and so as to hide all the wires from view, in the final version of course what you see in the picture will be hidden by a profile.

the double bottom glass

A new multi-filter and one of the new calcium reactor

Other stands around the show:

And finally the dream that we all marine keepers have… colored aquariums, growing and beautiful corals without the need of light! A dream!!!

The Reef Octopus stand

A beautiful aquarium with a zen-style at ZOLUX stand

Xaqua nanoreef, presented into ZOLUX stand.

For lovers of fresh water aquariums here’s some beautiful photos of some discus and a couple of rays of freshwater in a beautiful aquarium of the fair

The last two stands to be visited were Aquamedic, where they were show the Titan chillers.

And the Tetra stand that was the only one who was not inside the pavilion dedicated to aquarium

See you soon back in two years, hoping that by then many companies will join the exhibit
