Bea Aquaculture Coral’s Garden and Zoa Lab: a success at AcquariaItalia

Stand Bea Aquaculture AcquariaItalia 2025

The first edition of AcquariaItalia welcomed the enthusiastic presence of BEA Aquaculture, a young and dynamic company deeply committed to sustainability. Sharing their booth with Coral’s Garden and Zoa Lab, BEA captured visitors’ attention and even won the Best Booth Award, voted by attendees.

It was a great chance to reconnect with Nicola and Giacomo from BEA, which stands for Bio Engineering Aquaculture. Their presence never disappoints, and their booth was once again packed with products, innovations, and—above all—the desire to share and connect with visitors. This time, they teamed up with Coral’s Garden and Zoa Lab, enriching the space and showcasing a wide variety of stunning corals.

If you’re not yet familiar with BEA, it’s a company devoted to the preservation of marine ecosystems. You can check out our previous article to get to know them better: BEA Bio Engineering Aquaculture: Quality First.

Video: BEA’s Booth and Interview with Nicola Lo Duca

Before diving deeper, don’t miss our exclusive video interview with Nicola Lo Duca and a full tour of the booth. The video is mainly in Italian, with some segments in English, but you can turn on English subtitles anytime.

This group of passionate young professionals formed BEA to build a meaningful project rooted in strong partnerships across Italy. Notably, they collaborate with OceanLife and GNC, both of whom were also present at the event. Nicola recently mentioned them in one of their social media videos, where he also gave a sneak peek at their new facility in Arezzo.

BEA always emphasizes its mission to promote local excellence by working with Italian companies and collaborators—a philosophy we deeply appreciate.

The BEA’s Booth at AcquariaItalia 2025

BEA’s booth truly reflected Nicola and Giacomo’s vision. Focused on environmental sustainability, it stood out not only for its content but for the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. What struck us most wasn’t just the curated display, but the spirit of community that radiated throughout the space.

BEA doesn’t simply showcase products. They focus on education, engagement, and knowledge-sharing, inviting visitors to interact, ask questions, and get inspired. That’s why their booth was constantly surrounded by people—and it’s no surprise they won the Best Booth Award, based on votes cast during the show.

Their signature nano aquariums were also on display—small, fascinating ecosystems that break away from the stereotype of ultra-colorful hard corals, helping attendees discover the beauty of soft corals.

New Products from BEA Aquaculture

Naturally, BEA brought a wide selection of products, all available on their website (linked below). From their popular phytoplankton and zooplankton—which we reviewed in a previous DaniReef Lab article—to advanced biological and chemical protocols for reef tanks (here).

The bacterial protocol, including Resolve and Aequilibrium, offers a complete system for managing reef aquariums:

  • Resolve: A blend of carbonates, zeolite, clay, and micronized minerals—perfect for purifying aquariums;
  • Aequilibrium: A set of four biological products to be dosed based on specific needs, with clear guidelines available on BEA’s website.

BEA also introduced their Dosing Protocol Pro Kit, featuring a high-concentration 8x liquid supplement system. We’re currently testing it and will publish a detailed article soon.

The kit includes:

  • 5L Dosing Protocol Kit A [KH1];
  • 5L Dosing Protocol Kit B [KH2];
  • 5L Dosing Protocol Kit C [CA];
  • 5L Dosing Protocol Kit D [MG].

You can already find a detailed guide to this product on their website: BEA Dosing Protocol. Of course, their full line of specialized foods and complementary products was also on display.

New BEA Foods for Acanthuridae

BEA continues to evolve, always seeking new natural solutions for modern reefkeeping. At AcquariaItalia, they presented their latest line of algae-based foods, designed specifically for herbivorous fish like Acanthurids.

These species require precise nutrition, and using generic algae substitutes (like Nori) can lead to deficiencies. The new range includes_

  • Algae Dry Green XL-S
  • Algae Dry Red XL-S
  • Algae Dry Purple
  • Algae Fresh

Coral’s Garden

Also under the BEA banner, we were glad to see Coral’s Garden, a long-time friend of DaniReef. They previously sponsored our booth at PetsFestival 2019 with some stunning corals—check out the article here: The Incredible Shallow Reef Tank at PetsFestival 2019.

Represented by Andrea Testi, this Roman coral farm is a top-tier store known for its outstanding professionalism and coral selection. Their tank at AcquariaItalia was filled with vibrant, healthy coral frags.

Zoa Lab

Right next door was Jonathan Toti of Zoa Lab, famous for his meticulously selected, ultra-colorful Zoanthids.

Jonathan prioritizes animal health above all. Every coral goes through quarantine and, when needed, targeted disinfectant baths before reaching the main tank. Thanks to the right mix of light, nutrition, and water parameters, his Zoanthids truly shine.

We were thrilled to see both Coral’s Garden and Zoa Lab hosted under BEA’s roof this year, but we hope to see them with their own dedicated booths at future editions. It would be great to give each the visibility they deserve and make the fair even more spectacular.
