Comincio la descrizione della mia Norimberga dallo stand della Elos dove ho passato molto del mio tempo e dove ho approfondito la conoscenza delle novità. Le novita del 2008 sono state molte, alcune annunciate, altre imprevedibili, altre ancora sono passate sotto silenzio solo perché c’era qualcosa di più interessante su cui puntare la propria attenzione.

Uno dei prodotti più interessanti è stato senza dubbio il nuovo MiniReef, bello, bellissimo, con acclusa la lampada a led E-Lite come naturale complemento di questo spettacolare oggetto. Lo stile, come sempre, la fa da padrone.

Il MiniReef misura 43×43x40 cm ed il mobile è alto 87 cm. Il vetro frontale è in extrachiaro nella versione normale, mentre nella versione “lusso” tutti i vetri saranno in extrachiaro ed il mobile laccato.

In dotazione c’è la nuova sump 100, con il nuovo schiumatoio NS100 e come detto la lampada E-Lite. Le pompe in dotazione sono due eheim compact 1000, una per la risalita ed una per lo schiumatoio. La versione lusso ha in più anche l’osmocontroller e la lampada E-Lite in bianco.

Ma ora vi lascio a qualche foto Con la solita tecnica se passate il mouse sulla foto sotto vedrete il MiniReef aperto e chiuso.

 

E tenetevi forte… il prezzo finale al pubblico dovrebbe attestarsi attorno ai 1200 euro… un prezzo molto più basso di quello che mi sarei aspettato.

Visto che siamo in tema continuerei con i complementi del MiniReef che sono stati presentati anche come oggetti a se stanti.

La sump 100M dalle dimensioni di 36×30x40 cm ed 11 litri di acqua di rabbocco con lo schiumatoio Natural Skimmer NS1000.

La pompa in dotazione come detto prima è una Eheim compact 1000, l’ingombro è di 10×10x47cm con cilindro di 80 mm. E’ dato per una capacità di 100-150 litri. Ed è ovviamente sempre uno schiumatoio ad iniezione in controcorrente dall’alto.

Le lampade a led E-Lite sono costituite da 18 led, che in questo momento hanno una potenza di 80 lumen per watt, ma che dovrebbero arrivare a 100 lumen per watt entro fine anno. Hanno un sistema di ventilazione attivo che mantiene la parte a vista dell’acquario fredda mentre la copertura si scalda.

Subito dopo i MiniReef a me personalmente sono piaciute le nuove lampade a riflettore circolare, le Elos E-Power, sia per l’estetica, sia per quello che promettono.

Io ho avuto la fortuna di misurare i lumen a confronto fra questi riflettori con una elos spectra da 150w ed un lumenarc con lampadina da 400w… bhè non credevo ai miei occhi… la lampadina da 150w aveva quasi gli stessi lumen di quella da 400w! Addirittura ne aveva di più ai bordi. Non so quanto siano attendibili i lumen per una misurazione del genere, ma sicuramente sono indicativi della bontà del riflettore.

I riflettori sono stati presentati con lampada da 250w, sia con lampada da 150w. Entrambi hanno un ballast esterno e si configurano per essere usati su acquari spinti come alternativi ai ben più brutti lumenarc, ma in una installazione aperta ed in vista.

Altra interessantissima novità è la presentazione del fotometro multiparametro, disponibile sia in versione stand-alone che in versione add-on per Biotopus II, qua lo vedete in versione stand alone

Con questo fotometro è possibile misurare nitrati, fosfati, pH, nitriti ed ammoniaca. Attualmente sono stati validati solo i test con nitrati e fosfati, gli altri verranno validati nel corso dell’anno.

La tecnica di misura è semplice e geniale allo stesso tempo (si vede che mi piace eh?), si tara lo strumento sulla “assorbanza” dell’acqua dell’acquario, mettendo un po’ d’acqua nella provetta, poi si scioglie il reagente (in questo momento per nitrati e per fosfati) che si trova nei comuni test kits della elos, e poi si mette la provetta dentro lo strumento. Lo strumento stesso darà un valore di assorbanza che andandolo ad incrociare con le curve che vedete sotto, darà il valore per i nitrati e per i fosfati. La forza di questo strumento è che è multiparamento, ed autotarante, nel senso che ogni test kits sarà venduto con acclusa la propria tabella di curve di assorbanza. La lettura è velocissima

La Elos mi ha detto che entro la fine dell’anno saranno validati e resi disponibili anche i grafici dell’assorbanza per il valore pH, per i nitriti e per l’ammoniaca.

Sempre per il Biotopus II sono state presentate diverse novità

Oltre al modulo fotometro, che nella foto è subito sotto a destra del biotopus e che non è altro che il solo dispositivo per la lettura fotometrica dei campioni, è stata presentata in anteprima anche la nuova sonda densità marina, che è un solenoide rivestito in materiale plastico e che effettua la lettura all’interno della parte cava. Poi il modulo Rescue per la gestione delle interruzioni di corrente, con a corredo anche la pompa, e le usuali sonde di temperatura, pH, redox, livello, lumen ed i moduli di potenza e lunare.

Migliorati anche i Tesk kit per Ca, Mg e Kh, ora con risoluzione maggiorata

Ora il calcio ha una risoluzione di 10 ppm contro i precedenti 25, il KH ha una risoluzione di 0,5 dKH contro il precedente 1 dKH, ed il magnesio di di 50 ppm contro i precedenti 100 ppm

Infine sono stati presentati ben 3 schiumatoi, il già visto NS 100, l’NS 2000 e l’NS 8000

I nuovi skimmer si differenziano per le finiture bianche invece che nere, ed il 2000 che vedete in foto usa la stessa pompa dell’NS1000, la Eheim 1260 con girante a pale, che lavora in aspirazione con controcorrente dall’alto. Il corpo misura 20×17x55,5 cm con la camera esterna da 15 cm e quella interna da 12. In tutti gli skimmer sono stati cambiati i dispositivi di scarico dell’acqua per permettere di avere una maggior aria in ingresso.

Qua sopra vedete il nuovo NS 8000, può lavorare con 4 Eheim 1260, sempre in aspirazione e controcorrente dal basso, è indicato per vasche da 4.000 ad 8.000 litri, misura 25×21x85 cm con una colonna esterna di 20 cm e quella interna da 18.

Elos ha inoltre anche presentato anche un nuovo reattore di calcio, il REA200, indicato per vasche fino a 4000 litri.

Infine un nuovo osmocontroller con una centralina rimpicciolita e nuove dimensioni per gli acquari, in quanto sia il 70 che il 120 che il 160 sono stati “allargati”, avendo ora dimensioni pari a 70×57x50, 120×57x50 e 160×57x60.

I begin my Norimberga with description of Elos stand and Elos products, where I spent a lot of my time, and where I’ve improved my knowledge of their equipments. The 2008 news were many and amazing… let’s go!

One of the most amazing products was, without doubt, the new MiniReef, amazing, wonderful, with new E-Lite lamp, as natural add-on of this incredible object. The style wins… as always for Elos.

MiniReef has the following measures: 43×43x40 cm and furniture is 87 cm high. The front glass is extra clear in normal version, but in “de luxe” version you have all extra clear glasses.

With it you buy new sump 100, with new skimmer NS100 and E-Lite lamp. You have also 2 Eheim compact 1000 pumps.

As said, the pump with this skimmer (but also with this sump), is the Eheim compact 1000, skimmer dimensions are 10×10x47h with diameter of 80 mm. Elos give it for 24-40 gallons. As always is a top downdirect injection.

The E-Lite led lamp have 18 leds, that at moment have the power of 80 lumen for watt, but we wait for 100 lumen for watt for the end of the year. It have active ventilation system, so in front of water is cold, and over is hot.

After the MiniReef I like new circular reflector lamps, Elos E-Power, sure for style but also for the power they promise us.

I was been a particularly lucky man because I have had the opportunity to measure lumen between this reflector with 150 watts HQi and one lumenarc with 400 watts HQi… I didn’t believe to measurements, 150 watts HQi had almost the same lumen of 400 watts HQi, and more at the edge! I don’t know how this measure is important for our corals… but sure, the E-Power is a great reflector!

These reflectors are presented with 150 watts HQi and also with 250 watts HQi. Everyone has external ballast, and you can use instead of lumenarcs, but with more appeals

Another great news was the presentation of multi-parameter colorimeter, that you can buy as stand-alone version and biotopus II add-on. Here you see the stand-alone version.

With this colorimeter you can measure nitrates, phosphates, nitrites, pH and ammonium. Actually only nitrates and phosphates are validated, all the others will validate during this year.

The measure technique is brilliant and simple at the same time (is it so clear that I like it?), you have to measure the “color” of the water and put it as “zero” of the system, than you have to add reagent(s) that you find on Elos test kits as normal protocol to do test, and after that, you put vial inside colorimeter. The colorimeter, in a very short amount of time, give us only one number, water absorption, that we put in the following chart, so we have the correct values. The force of this equipment is the multi-parameter options and that every test kits will be sold with his right chart, so we’ll have always the right calibration.

Elos has said that we’ll have all charts of pH, nitrites and ammonium before the end of the year.

For Biotopus II we have had other news:

As said we have had colorimeter module, that in picture you can see at the right of Biotopus, and it consists only in colorimeter without electronic control, as you can use your Biotopus. Then we have seen the new density probe and new rescue module (to help us on lack of electrical energy).

The test kits are also improved, Ca, Mg and Kh Tesk kits have now high resolution

For calcium test kits we have now 10ppm of resolution, when we had 25 ppm, for KH we have now 0,5 dKH opposite to old 1 dKH, and magnesium has now 50 ppm instead of 100 ppm.

Moreover Elos has presented us 3 new skimmers, the NS 100 (just seen before), the NS 2000 and the NS 8000.

The new skimmer are different for white finishes instead of black. The NS 2000, that you see on picture, use the same pump of NS 1000, the Eheim 1260 with normal impeller, and works as usual as top down direct injection, right for 260-530 gallons tank. The body has the following measures 201×17x55,5 cm with outside cylinder of 15 cm and inner one of 12 cm. Elos ha changed also the drainage with new type, so you can have more air in the entrance., for every his skimmers.

Over here you can see the new NS 8000, it can works until 4 Eheim 1260, always Top-Down direct injection, right for 1050-2100 gallons tank. Dimensions are 25×21x85h cm and diameters 20 and 18 cm.

Moreover one new osmocontroller with smaller central unit, and new dimension for tank… now we had 70×57x50h, 120×57x50h and 160×57x60h instead of old 50 cm.
