During our visit to CIPS 2025, we had an important appointment: meeting Andrew from Neptunian Cube to see their stunning aquariums. We then discovered that the booth also featured Aipai, already well known in Italy thanks to the A8 lighting fixture (read our review here).
Even among so many booths, it was impossible not to notice Neptunian Cube and Aipai. Their stand overlooked the central hall, featuring highly scenic setups and a large number of aquariums—both fully equipped and display units—that made us feel like we had stepped into an aquarist’s dreamland. While we didn’t go deep into pricing, it was immediately clear that the build quality and overall value are extremely competitive compared to European standards.

Getting to Know Neptunian Cube
Neptunian Cube Aquarium Technology Co., Ltd was founded in Jinan, the capital of the Shandong region in China, just over 10 years ago. In a relatively short time, the company has gained recognition for its high-end products, built with a clear goal: delivering technically advanced and visually striking solutions. Just take a look at the setup below—absolutely impressive. The level of organization inside the sump is nothing short of obsessive, in the best possible way.
A Line for Every Need
Browsing through the Neptunian Cube catalog, we found several aquarium lines, with different sizes and features designed to meet the needs of a wide range of hobbyists.
What truly stands out, beyond the excellent build quality, is the overall organization of space, which also creates a strong visual impact. Needless to say, we were very impressed—just as we were at Interzoo 2024, as you can read in our previous article: Neptunian Cube with cutting-edge technical solutions.
Above you can see a Magic series aquarium, which stands out thanks to its large rear overflow weir, carved directly into the glass, as shown in detail in the following image. A truly spectacular technical solution.
Aipai
As mentioned earlier, we were surprised to also find Aipai at the Neptunian Cube booth. We had always associated Aipai mainly with lighting systems, but it turns out they produce a full range of equipment—from lights to return pumps and protein skimmers.
Together, these two companies offer a complete solution for every need, capable of delivering a fully integrated, ready-to-build aquarium system.
Neptunian Cube and Aipai: What They Mean for the Future of Aquariums
Visiting their booth at CIPS 2025, we had the clear impression that Neptunian Cube and Aipai represent a new generation of manufacturers, capable of combining design, engineering, and in-house production in a highly competitive way.
While Chinese companies were often seen as OEM manufacturers in the past, today brands like these are emerging as independent players with their own technical and design identity. The solutions we observed—from sump management to full hardware integration—demonstrate a very high level of industrial maturity.
The ability to create a complete ecosystem—from aquarium to lighting, pumps, and skimmers—represents a modern approach that could significantly influence the global market in the coming years.
It’s easy to imagine that some of the solutions seen at CIPS 2025 could become new technical standards, just as has happened in the past with other innovations coming from Asia.
The passion and dedication of the staff are evident in every stage of production—from assembly to smart engineering solutions and refined finishing. The result is equipment that is not only visually appealing but also highly functional, designed to meet real user needs.
