Marsa Alam – Holiday Beach Resort 2009

Here we are, finally, to make a complete review of our trip to Egypt!

We choose again Holiday Beach Resort which I had already talked extensively last year, but this year we had a reason to return to this resort, the presence of the diving we had only known last year and that we have used extensively this year.

So we have to begin with an evocative picture of the sparkling sea which we have found in Marsa Alam … a beautiful paradise… again! 🙂

As we have the complete photoreview of the last year, I just take a few details and focus more on underwater photographs up to 25 meters deep, in addition to people who have known during our visit.

Marsa Alam – Holiday Beach Resort – English Version

Before speaking of the new pictures let’s do a short vision of the resort… The resort was build in the last year, and looking through Google Maps it’s possible to see some details about what it will be the Holiday Beach Resort (by Google Maps), it’s far 4 km from the airport of Marsa Alam, near Port Ghaleb. The resort is build like a horseshoe, with ends near the beach, and here we took the first great surprise, because we was in 4 people we have had the room n. 1161, the last of the resosrts and so the most closed to sea, with two great window doors, one to the sea and one to the resort. The rearside of this is to have a spacious room… what a luck! Nothing is changed from the last year, good… better!

Compared to last year we can claim to have eaten much better, nobody had stomach problems, and we was enjoyed even more than the last year, thanks to the animators, and especially the warmth with which we were received 🙂 What a pity that this year there was not the legendary Sabotage we had so much appreciated last year … but those who stayed and who was there was certainly no less!

Finally we leave! … as usual we took BluPanorama airplane, and saturday morning at 7 o’clock we was flighting… here we are just arrived at international airport of  Marsa Alam… and on the left the desert… so wonderful.

And while we was in our bus we can meet some egyptians truck…

We arrived at the resort at midday, and after some moments, together with my friend Lumaz went to the beach… where someone was taking the sun

Looking at the boat… and also this year we didn’t visit it…

Unfortunately, the most negative aspect of this holiday was the heavy sea, which made us regret the board that instead we found last year. This year jump down from the pier was impossible… we did only the first day and a night dive, for which I still have the marks of the ladder on the back. Pity.

Also on the pier of the next resort someone was looking to the heavy sea…

But someone was riding in the desert

And the camel feels hot…

because the sun is very hot… and we was lucky to have a strong wind…

And someone walked on water, I don’t know who she was, but I like this picture!

Someone are diving… in front of our resort, I wished to be there

And while Lumaz took some pictures from lagoon…

Some egyptians men was dancing in front of his wife…

And we finally we have had the night… the moon is truly fantastic in the dark desert…

And a few geckos went out from their lair to take some hot from walls of the resort

While we saw a spectacular elephant in our room

The animation gave us a very special night thanks to some egyptians dances… far better than the last year thanks to the wonderful girl…

The sunset was spectacular in the desert…

and also the swimming pool changes his colour during the sunset…

Also we need to thanks all the animators of the holiday, and so I dedicate to them this small collage of images…

And finally we come to the sea … the beautiful Red Sea …

In order to mantain the setting of these reports, we will present the photos taken in the sea in front of the Resort, but not those submerged, because as I say unfortunately the sea was very rough in front of our hotel.

There are also the only two videos filmed this year in Marsa Alam, in the lagoon in front of the Resort I saw two eels, Myrichthys colubrinus or banded snake eel and Myrichthys maculosus or spotted snake eel, both very peaceful and non dangerous.
