I think you could want to pass the mouse over the image of the live rocks if you want to see the play of light offered by LEDs (and if you have firefox).

Yes the lighting system isn’t ready, because a part of it, one of the HQi, has been serving the other tank in the attic, feature actually quite comfortable in these cases.

The new project of DaniReef: the tank

Finally my new project takes off. After the problem of my previous tank that after two years had almost completely unstuck (see here), I ordered a new tank and thanks to Alessandro Falco who lent me his aquarium to keep “on holiday” my adored fish, I managed at last to take off.

The choice of measures has been to prefer a tank that would give the idea of being large, so a very wide format, despite the height. So I confirmed the length of the front window of 130 cm, while I had to settle of a width of 60 cm, and a total height of 50 cm, which might give a more wide aquascape, this also because of the layout I have in mind and you’ll see soon.

Welcomes on my blog dedicated to my tank and the feelings that I feel for it.
The website is organizated in several sections that you find in the lateral menù, and through which you will be able to see other categories and articles. In articles you will find my ideas, my photos, and also articles published on Acquaportal, and some discussions linked to forums.
This website wants to be a container of what for me it represents to be marine aquarist, you’ll find photos of my tank, and of those of my friends, there are continuous links to websites and blogs who I think to interest, and to arguments on the several forums, national and international where I write. Feel free to use all the instruments of the blog, from the Feed, to the search through Tags (or words key), to navigation through categories.
Your comment to articles would be truly appreciated, because it’s my motivation to continue on this road.

Aquasmart by Limulus: I love electronics. When I begun the Aquarium hobby I thought how to automate it using a dedicated computer. Some time ago I tried Aquarium Controller of Aquatronica, last year I known Roberto Buti at Bologna Zoomark, and I was impressed of his system, Aquasmart. I can assure you that everything you want to do… it’s possible, as you can see continuing reading. Read more |
Calcium reactor Elos Rea 120 plus - Complete Review: The review of calcium reactor Elos REA120 Plus. With this reactor, I have replaced the previous largest Korallin and I used it on my 400 liter tank filled with hard corals, and I’ve tried using both arm and natural CaCO3 media. Read more |
Calcium reactors Korallin C-1501 and C-3001 Complete Review: in my story of aquarium keeper I had a chance to try two Calcium reactors Korallin, the C-1501 and C-3001. Both into two different tanks. The C-1501 on a tank of 300 liters and the bigger C-3001 on a tank of 400 liters. Both tanks were full of hard corals (sps). I’ve tried using both arm and natural CaCO3 media. And I must say I was largely satisfied by their operation. Read more |

Skimmer Elos Natural Skimmer NS1000 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 : Only part 4 is in English and is about Cleaning skimmer: The skimmer maintenance is our main goal to achieve the “perfect” aquarium. The skimmer efficiency is mainly influenced by its maintenance because: 1) Collection cup filled by water. 2) foam on collection cup neck. 3) degradation of pump because using. 4) injector obstructed by calcium and salt sediments. Zeus by OceanLife: COMPLETE REVIEW: One of the most critical aspect in the management of an aquarium is the management of emergencies that comes in the event of an interruption of power line. The lack of electricity is the first and immediate consequence of the collapse of the oxygen content in the aquarium and then of the pH, and soon after this brings the tank to no longer be heated or cooled properly.

Complimenti ancora a Mirco!!!

At the last MagnaRomagna we went to visit the new and splendid Mirco’s tank, aka MadMaxReef (clicking on your nick you can visit his web page). I must say that the tank, although builted recently from an older tank, is wonderful, both for the technical solutions designed, though not all yet implemented, both for growth on almost all corals. What we say a painless changing tank.
Impressive especially the two Seriatopora histrix, pink and yellow one, in the center of tank, a real jewel in a beautiful tank.
It was not easy to pull off a coherent images caused by a blue background (like a Cinema Blue Screen) because the blue always seemed saturated also the strong illumination of T5 has forced me to make choices, photos dark not burning the corals exposed to light, and vice versa too lighter for photos trying to see everything.
Mirco Congratulations again!
