We have been welcomed by our friend Andrea Ongaro, one of the best aquascapers I have ever met, and he works permanently for some time in Atlanta (Madison), at Seachem‘s headquarters.

Seachem Tidal 55 filter

After the welcoming at the booth we’ve been introduced to the news of the stand, standing from the external filter Tidal. The 55th version is very interesting, because it could be used in a marine aquarium to clean it from the floating materia. Even putting it in sump. And Seachem intrigued us saying that something more specific is going to come. Speaking of fresh water aquariums we already know Tidal filters and we really like them, for they simplicity and linearity. The Tidal filter is produced by Sicce and it’s part of the commercial partnership of which we’ve spoken before.

The filter’s capacity is 1,2 liters and it measures 20,5 x 14 x 19,5 cm.

The new Seachem Algae Scraper

Seachem presented a new concept of Algae Scraper, an algae remover. It doesn’t have a specific name.

Interzoo 2018: il pulisci vetro Algae scraper di Seachem

It’s a floating object with a shaped handle that can hold different typologies of materials to clean the glass from the algae.

A very curious object, maybe more suitable for fresh water aquariums rather than marine ones, so it may be difficult to reach every corner of the aquarium where there are many corals, because it’s a bit voluminous. But even if this disadvantage we would be very curious to try it. And before or after the corals will reach the glass and so even the smallest magnet will have problems of cleaning. As always, it’s a matter of time and… growth.

Seachem Aquavitro Aquasolum

The aquarium in the booth, besides showing the algae scraper, shows also other new products, called Aquavitro Aquasolum.

Interzoo 2018: il nuovo substrato organico aquasolum di aquavitro impiegato in un acquarioAquasolum i’ts a light substratum derived from the humus. So an ideal substratum for an aquarium with plants or for caridine. It tends to lower the pH and to make the water sweeter.

Because it’s a product with an organic derivation, it contains a mixture very difficult to be found in other chemical fertilizer.

Interzoo 2018: la nuova linea per caridine aquavitroWith Aquasolum has also been presented the line dedicated to caridine, shrimp, and each product is for a characteristic of the water.

The new Aquavitro Bond glue

Interzoo 2018: aquavitro bond - colla per coralli

Aquavitro Bond is a glue for corals, and not only, that works heating it at temperatures that aren’t so high for the other glues on the market. It can be rework indefinitely. It’s inert, so it doesn’t react with the water and its chemical particles, so its use is absolutely reef-safe. For us, that care about the environment and don’t want to waste, it would be great to use it.

Interzoo 2018: forbici per aquascaping presso lo stand Seachem AquavitroWe conclude the article with a pair of these beautiful pruning shears, always Aquavitro, made for the aquascaping. Nice, comfortable, as bizarre for us that are not experts.
