The new and very little Aqamai KPS pump is finally in our hands for a complete test.

It has been presented as an avanced concept at the Interzoo 2016 and seen in action at the PetsFestival 2016 and today it’s available.
The pump is incredibly small, especially considering its range.
Aqamai KPS technical characteristics
The Aqamai KPS stands immediately out for its very high efficiency: 415 litres of per watt. An incredible value. And that’s very impressive to think that is reached by a pump so small.

It needs a smartphone app to be set, Android or Apple. With this app it’s possible to set it almost totally. You can find it in the specific stores (apple or android), but to make it work you need one of these pumps or one of the incoming LRM ceiling lights.
The controller is always small, round and connected both to the power source and the pump. Inside there’s the wifi controller which links the pump with the app.
In the following picture it’s possible to appreciate the tiny pump with its two propellers rotor, as small as it is. The outer skull cap is interlocking and protects fish and snails from the rotor.
The rotor is really small, as you can see in the following picture.
Another peculiarity of this pump is its magnetic sucker. It’s a patent by Hydor that want to reach the perfect hooking to glass combining a sucker and a magnet. The specifics confirm an attachment until glass of 15 mm. I have the same thickness, so it has been tested with this arrangement.
The same pump attaches magnetically to the sucker. The final form has a very captivating appearance, and the possibility to rotate on itself.
Price
The Aqamai KPS costs 119,99 euro. The economic efficiency is 20,75 litres per euro. An average value that doesn’t have to make us forget about its performance: this pump has to be considered also for its high efficiency together with its tiny size. And for now we’re not talking about the controller, which worth a very large space in our future review.
